Sample All of Miami’s Great Offerings in December
No matter what holiday you celebrate, there are plenty of things you can do this month in Miami, as tourists and Miami residents alike can listen to fantastic music, see wonderful and whimsical displays and sample some wonderful food and drink on many holiday themed menus across the city. While there is a whole wealth of things you can sample in December, here a few in particular to keep your eye on.
Boat Parade in Ft. Lauderdale
It’s the 47th year of the highly anticipated Winterfest Boat Parade. Hundreds of barges, yachts, sailboats and even kayaks come out with lights aglow down the Intracoastal Waterway between Ft. Lauderdale and Pompano Beach.
Miami Lantern Light Festival
Speaking of lights, the Lantern Light Festival lasts 6 full weeks and features some of the most beautifully designed Chinese lanterns on planet earth. Not only is the display fantastic, there’s also spectacular performances to accompany the lamps along with a number of food options.
Sounds of the Season
Finally, one of the most exciting performances of the month takes place on December 15 this year and it’s when the New World Symphony comes to town to perform their Sounds of the Season special. If you want to view it in the traditional concert hall, you can buy your tickets up and head there. Or if you’re looking for a more casual vibe, you can attend the Wallcast, which is a massive television in SoundScape Park where you can see the performance on a 7,000 square foot screen and enjoy a picnic with loved ones.
December in Miami is a special time of year and there is always so much to do. With hundreds of performances and displays, it shouldn’t be difficult to make it one to remember.
